Best Gaming Chairs for Big and Tall Guys 2022 (Wide & Large)
With games like Fortnite, League of Legends, and DoTA 2 dominating streaming sites like Twitch.tv, gaming is becoming a new national pastime.
If you have spent any time on streaming channels, then you’ll know all of the most popular streamers use gaming chairs. These souped-up office chairs (let’s be realistic, that’s what they are) are made with extra padding and reinforcement for extra comfort during long gaming sessions.
One problem though: most popular gaming chairs are better suited for gamers with a smaller or more average frame. That means they may not be suitable for those with larger, or taller bodies.
Small seat beds, short seatbacks, and smaller load capacities are all issues bigger gamers run into when trying to find suitable chairs for big and tall guys.
In an effort to help out bigger gamers – because we know what it’s like – we have compiled a list of the 10 best gaming chairs for big (and tall) guys.
The products we cover fit a range of budgets. But if you have a strict budget of under $200, you will doubtless find this article right up your alley.

How we picked the best gaming chairs for big and tall guys
The key considerations have to be the design considerations for height, weight, and width. So it makes sense those were our prime parameters for this guide.
However, just because something ‘fits’ doesn’t mean it does so comfortably. So we’ve used our expertise and personal experience to recommend, based on both material comfort and adjustability.
We’ve also tried to cater to a range of budgets, while including ‘basic’ options and premium brands. All while selecting the very best, trustworthy and reliable gaming chairs for big and tall users.
Best Gaming Chairs for Big and Tall Guys 2022 (Wide & Large)
- 395lbs max support
- Premium build quality
- Improved comfort
- Expensive
- No support beyond 395lbs
It’s unsurprising for Secretlab to feature in gaming chair lists. And the XL variant of the Titan Evo 2022 series deserves its place here.
Secretlab is a long-established premium gaming chair brand. But the extra capacity offered by Secretlabs’ XL chairs is a boon for taller or bigger users.
Built for users measuring 5′ 11″ to 6′ 9″ (181-205cm), and with a maximum supported weight of 395lbs (180kg), many big and tall users will be well-served. The Titan Evo 2022 is the latest series from Secretlab too though, so there are some key evolutions.
First, Secretlab has updated the upholstery. Its new Neo Hybrid Leatherette and SoftWeave Plus Fabric is very smart – and reportedly 12x and 3.5x more durable than PU leather and SoftWeave fabric respectively.
Those changes add durability, while a new ‘pebble’ style seat hybridizes Titan and Omega designs. That means a more curved seat, plus a new 4-way lumbar support system for added back support.
Extras include a new magnetic (no straps) head pillow and upgraded 4D armrests. Meanwhile, as with the 2020 series, you’ll still get Secretlab’s multi-tilt mechanism, 165-degree reclining, and a 5-year warranty.
Frankly, we love this as a gaming chair for big and tall guys. It is expensive, and if you don’t need the latest design changes, you may get a decent deal on the 2020 series.
- 90-degree adjustable armrests
- Tough double cast wheels
- 2-year warranty parts, lifetime warranty on frame
- No adjustable head or lumbar support
- Pricey
The DXRacer King series of gaming chairs is a close cousin to the Tank series but offers some nice improvements.
An extra-wide seating measures almost 30 inches across and an extra tall back is perfect for tall gamers. Overall back, neck and lumbar support are superb.
As a nice touch, the two armrests can be rotated 90 degrees, meaning you can fold them up when they’re not in use.
Many gaming chairs have non-adjustable armrests, but it’s always nice when you find a gaming chair that allows you to adjust the armrests to suit your body type. Armrests that aren’t the right height or distance apart can definitely ruin the experience.
The chair lacks adjustable lumbar and neck support but the wheels are doubled cast so they stay intact much better.
Unfortunately, it is rather pricey, but if you are willing to shell out more money for a good chair with sturdy built quality, you cannot go wrong with the DXRacer King series.
- Very high weight capacity (440 pounds)
- Breathable PVC leather seat cover stays cool
- Durable steel alloy frame
- Flimsy plastic components
- Poor customer service
The VERTAGEAR P line of heavy-duty gaming chairs is built to last, the PL 6000 included. The heavy duty frame/base is made of a reinforced steel alloy and is rated for a max capacity of 440 pounds.
The PVC leather seat of the VERTAGEAR is perforated with holes that let the chair breathe and keep your butt cool. So if that’s key in your search for gaming chairs for big and tall guys take note.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the PU leather back – although it’s not unique as a gaming chair with a PU leather back.
The VERTAGEAR somewhat lacks in vertical adjustability, but the arms are adjustable in 4 directions, which is a huge win in terms of ergonomics and comfortability. Unfortunately, the back seat is not reclinable, but it does flex a bit so you can at least lean back a small amount.
- Classy sophisticated design
- Lots of padding in the seat
- 360-degree tilt adjustability
- Lacks design features of other gaming chairs
- No adjustable neck support
If you’re looking for a gaming chair that does not necessarily scream “gamer”, the Amazon Basic Big & Tall Executive Gaming/Office chair is an excellent choice. Its classic brown leather design looks sophisticated and also doubles as a good-looking office chair.
The chair has a very large seat bucket which is good for gamers with wide hips. It notably lacks any backseat recline, but you can flex the frame and adjust lumbar support. You can also tilt the chair at the base and lock it into position, so it still somewhat adjustable.
Worth noting is that it does sit pretty high off the ground so there is lots of legroom for very tall users. With a 350 pounds capacity, it’s about in the middle of the pack as far as this list goes.
The chair doesn’t offer adjustable neck support, which is definitely another drawback of this model. The neck support did feel comfortable to me, but that could be because my body type is well-suited for this chair.
Many gaming chairs have non-adjustable armrests, but it’s always nice when you find a gaming chair that allows you to adjust the armrests to suit your body type. Armrests that aren’t the right height or distance apart can definitely ruin the experience.

What To Look For In A Chair For Big Gamers
Our Verdict
It’s incredibly hard to look past Secretlab here. When looking for gaming chairs for big and tall guys, what do we need?
Extra stability, extra capacity, and extra durability. The Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 XL delivers on these points and provides premium construction and support from one of the most well-established gaming chair brands there is.
Such considerations are essential for bigger and taller users, and so the Titan Evo 2022 XL has to top our list.
It is pricey, and it may not offer the highest weight parameters (check out the Vertagear P-Line), but it’s the best combination option by our reckoning.
