AMD expands Ryzen 3 3rd gen CPU line-up with fastest Ryzen processors ever

Prices from as low as $99 will terrify the competition

AMD has today announced its forthcoming updates to its desktop processor lineup. Excitement had been mounting over the past few days that there was something big on the horizon, and at 9 am Eastern Time today, the processor giant put everybody out of their misery.

Announcing the new AMD Ryzen 3 3100 & 3300X,  AMD says the new CPUs will “unlock new levels of performance, delivering twice the multitasking capabilities over the previous generations with four cores and eight threads.”

AMD also unveiled the AMD B550 Chipset for Socket AM4 designed for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processors – promising there are over 60 designs currently in development.

Saeid Moshkelani, senior vice president and general manager, said: 

“Games and applications are becoming more and more demanding, and with this, users are demanding more from their PCs,”

“AMD is committed to providing solutions that meet and exceed those demands for all levels of computing. With the addition of these new Ryzen 3 desktop processors, we are continuing this commitment with our mainstream gaming customers. We’ve taken performance up a level, doubling the processing threads of our Ryzen 3 processors to propel gaming and multitasking experiences to new heights.”

Specifications

AMD, keen to consolidate their domination over the gaming desktop CPU market, believes AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X represents the fastest ever AMD Ryzen 3 desktop processors. – Something that will be ringing around the halls at Intel today.

Availability

The AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X are expected to be available from May 21, 2020. 

The AMD B550 motherboards are meanwhile expected to be available beginning June 16, 2020
