Ryzen 9 7950X will boast 62% faster performance metrics over rival Intel’s Core i9-12900K, says AMD via its own internal benchmarks.

The firm is providing ample promises relayed amid its Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 series event held earlier this week, wherein AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su expanded upon the Zen 4, AM5 ecosystem.

Dr. Su herself highlighted Ryzen 9 7950X benchmarks in line with the Core i9-1200K via two main parameters: Gaming and Creator programs. The games included CS:GO, DOTA 2, Borderlands 3, and SOTTR, while the creator applications consisted of POV-Ray, Blender, V-Ray, and Cinebench R23.

AMD’s general gaming metrics for the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X in tandem with Intel’s chip show some promising numbers. In Borderlands 3, the high-end AMD chip tied with the i9-12900K and even showed a 1% decrease while playing CS:GO, yet ousted the competition with a 23% performance increase in DOTA 2.

Despite DOTA 2 being somewhat of an easier game to run on most PCs, it still speaks volumes on the chip’s overall performance metrics. But the main highlight is AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X running Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which showed a notable jump at a 14% increase over Intel’s chip.

While being AMD’s highest-end option, the Ryzen 9 7950X is more so intended for complex content creation workloads. Thus, creator performance will prove to be its major selling point.

In content creation, the Ryzen 9 7950X outpaces the competition through several factors. In V-Ray Render workloads, the high-end AMD chip showed a massive 62% over its rival 12900K. The Ryzen 9 7950X also dominated in both Cinebench R23 nT and POV-Ray with a 41% increase in performance.

Running a Blender Render also proved to put the i9-12900K to shame after the Ryzen 9 7950X showed a 36% increase. In overall points, the total for the Ryzen 9 7950X came back with 30,210, while the Core i9 processor took home a score of 18,646.

With 32 threads and 16 CPU cores, the Ryzen 9 7950X proves to be a beast, one that may well run rather hot at 95C per a report out of Wccftech. AMD will be launching its Ryzen 9 7950X at $699 come Sept. 27th.
