When will the new AMD B550 chipset be released?
AMD has announced its new B550 motherboard chipset and accompanying new Ryzen 3100 and 3300X CPUs.
The chipset has been eagerly awaited by gaming enthusiasts and brings with it PCI-E 4.0 support to gamers, giving them a further option alongside the X570 chipset.
At the moment all we know is it is slated for release in mid-May this year. As soon as the date is firmed up, we will update this page immediately.
How much will the new B550 chipset cost?
As ever the board will come in various iterations with AMD saying there are over 60 different designs in production right now. They remained tight-lipped on the price range, but with the budget-friendly costings of the 3100 and 3300X, we are hoping they will be extremely affordable. We will update, as ever, as soon as we know more.
Where can I buy a B550 motherboard?
You will be able to pick up both from the regular major retailers when they go on sale in the next few weeks.
