What can we expect to see?

In all honesty, there’s not much to be expected for the Galaxy Unpacked Part Two event. When it was first announced, we speculated on what the sudden event meant and what we can expect here. for the most part, we think it will focus on Samsungs move into fashionable technology, which will probably focus on cases, reiterations of phone designs, and possibly some more information on their upcoming Android 12 OS rehash in One UI. The latter seems most likely, although the rumblings of the Samsung Galaxy S22 line have been turning into big leaks since we published the Galaxy Unpacked speculation article.

The Samsung Newsroom announcement touched on their users being “Multifaceted and live life in so many colorful, interesting and unique ways”. Samsung is obviously set on letting users customize their user experiences and providing smartphones that work around a user’s lifestyle and not the other way around. It’s a trend we are seeing as Google moves to AI-focused, machine learning features and Apple finally makes owning an iPhone more accessible with their iPhone 13 line.

There’s been a series of leaks regarding Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra over the past couple of months. From artist renders to leaked screen protectors, there’s a lot to chew on right here. A couple of days ago, the internet was gifted some stunning concepts based on leaked specifications which is the best look yet at the upcoming S22 Ultra. You can take a look at them here with our coverage.

Moving away from the S22 leaks and rumors, the anticipated S21 FE (Fan Edition) was apparently set for launch this year, but this and the upcoming Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are apparently receiving delays due to the ongoing chip shortage planet Earth is currently experiencing according to TrustedReviews. Another rumor from the same source suggests that the S21 FE has been scrapped altogether in order to focus on Samsungs foldable releases, go figure.

Looking to offer flagship performance in a budget handset, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition is set to include the same SnapDragon 888 SoC but only rocks 8GB RAM. Now encased in plastic rather than gorilla glass, there’s obviously going to be some cutbacks on the FE, but the sheer value for money on this budget Samsung offers balances out the cut corners here.

We’ll be covering the Galaxy Unpacked Part Two event right here on PC Guide, so make sure to stay tuned on our News Hub for the latest.
