**UPDATE 13/10/21: EVLeaks has leaked the HTC Vive Flow press kit images via Twitter. Pre-orders start October 15th. See below:

With HTCs new #GoWithTheFlow advertising campaign to back up its upcoming reveal event on October 14th, word has been getting around about a new mystery headset named ‘HTC Flow’.

HTC Vive Flow – What Is It?

HTC isn’t shy when it comes to releasing high-end virtual reality headsets, with both the HTC Vive Pro 2 and business-focused HTC Vive Focus 3 costing north of $1300. Maybe it’s time for HTC to release a competitively priced standalone VR Headset, or maybe a glasses hybrid? That’s right, the HTC Proton was unveiled as a work-in-progress glasses/googles hybrid back in February, with HTC themselves touting the prototype as an arc for their future VR tech. Looking at the Flow event promotional images, that charging case does look like a hefty glasses case?

HTC Vive Flow – Is It Real?

Although it’s not been officially announced, HTC is gearing up for a new tech reveal. Unless they’ve put a massive marketing budget into a smart glasses case, the VIVE FLOW trademark that was filed on August 28th should be a good indication of what’s to come. Looking into the trademark, virtual reality augmented reality and mixed reality all point to a glasses/headset hybrid virtual reality experience. Also, given the naming and hashtag marketing of the event, we’re pretty confident in stating we’ll be looking forward to a new VR headset in some form after the HTC Flow event on October 14th.

Please don’t just be a smart glasses case.

With most tech events in the same vein, we’ll probably get word of a preorder date with a full release up to a month later. We would love to say they’ll be aiming for the budget all-in-one market, but that’s not HTCs style. Considering the Flow event is two weeks before the Facebook Connect event, HTC might withhold release information until they know what Facebook is cooking.
