On the cusp of the start of a rather interesting IFA Berlin tech conference, Philips Hue owner Signify has announced today, September 1st, the debut of a swath of new smart lighting products, main among them being a trio of dimmable color ambiance light blubs.

The Lightguide bulbs, which come in three main form factors, represent a more stylized approach to smart home lighting for Philips Hue. Customers can choose from the aforementioned three sizes, a globular bulb, a triangular bulb, and an ellipse-shaped bulb.

Each can be modified with color ambiance or simple white illumination modes, for up to 500 lumens of brightness, in addition to leveraging a light diffusing inner tube and lustrous outer glass for a more pronounced effect.

Philips Hue has set the Lightguide bulbs’ release date for later this year, with pricing starting at $74.99 and up to $89.99 per bulb. They can even come equipped with a pendant cord, which is priced at $49.99 separately, or via a whole package at $129.98.

Signify also announced the launch of a PC lighting product called the Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip, quite a mouthful yet it packs a colorful punch in the RGB category. The Lightstrip can be used in tandem with the Philips Hue Sync desktop app and Corsair’s iCue for added personality to your workstation.

The Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip will be available come September 13th. The price of the strips will be marketed for specific display sizes as follows:

  • 24 to 27-in monitors at $169.99
  • 32 to 34-in monitors at $189.99
  • Full bundle of three 24 to 27-in monitors at $279.99

The firm also announced the introduction of a Hue slim downlight, which is intended for low-profile ceilings, and a new line of Hue White ambience Filament candle bulbs. The Hue slim downlight will be available today, September 1st, while the Filament candle bulbs won’t debut until September 13 for NA and EU customers.

Pricing for both products is as follows:

  • Philips Hue slim downlight: $69.99
  • Philips Hue White ambiance Filament candle bulbs: $44.99, 2-pack for $64.99

All the new home lighting products out of Philips Hue can be controlled via the Hue app, which itself will be bundled together with the Philips Hue sync app for more integrated support across all devices. The Hue app will even garner a new feature called “Mimic,” which as the name suggests will essentially mirror a user’s lighting preferences so it appears as though “someone’s always home.”
