Our pick for the best monitor for PS5 goes to the LG 27UK650-W, without a shadow of a doubt. We can’t speak highly enough about this monitor. Featuring a 4K resolution and a 5ms response time, this monitor looks great and performs very admirably. So, here’s everything you need to know.

The LG model is incredibly sturdy and comes with a solid stand. It’s possible to make it tilt and swivel as you like, so you can game from any angle.

So, as far as resolution is concerned, the maximum this monitor can give is 3840×2160 @ 60Hz. This is more than sufficient to ensure that you aren’t plagued by any lag when you’re gaming. The monitor comes with two different HDMI ports that you can use to connect to your console, in addition to a headphone-out port. You no longer need to worry about your family members screaming at you to turn the TV down!

It’s absolutely possible to use this monitor with a PC too if you wish to alternate between two gaming devices. With this being said, you should ensure that all of your graphics drivers on your PC to get the most out of this monitor.

It is worth mentioning, however, that the monitor is somewhat expensive so it may be a little too much money for someone on a budget. It also doesn’t have local dimming support.

2
PROS
  • Lots of ports available
  • Stunning visuals
  • Blue light options for eye care
CONS
  • The speakers aren’t ideal

There are few monitors that can rival the BENQ EW3270U. This impressive monitor features a gorgeous 4K display, a range of ports, and even blue light options so you can look at it for longer without straining your eyes. For an affordable price, you really can’t go wrong with this monitor.

The BENQ monitor looks a lot like a flat-screen TV in some respects and has a tall base. Thankfully, you can adjust the monitor to fit your needs, so you don’t need to crane your neck to see the monitor at any given time. If you want to sit instead of standing for a while, you can simply tilt the screen downwards without much trouble.

The monitor has four different modes in total – HDR and BI+ off, HDR on, both of them on, and BI+ on. You can access this customization by clicking on a button positioned on the lower right of the monitor. It also has a range of different color schemes based on what you’re doing at the time – HDR, gaming, and M-book.

Where there is an up, however, there must be a down. The negatives when it comes to this particular monitor are that the speakers aren’t really up to scratch so you will likely need to buy a new set if you want to hear your gaming in high volume.

3
PROS
  • Comes with a remote control
  • Durable
  • Bright screen
CONS
  • Not many adjustments to the stand

When you first try the PHILIPS 436M6VBPAB, you’ll wonder what you’ve been missing out on for all of these years. This is almost like a hybrid between a TV and a monitor without all of the lag that you would expect from a TV. There’s so much to love about this monitor that you’ll be hitting that buy button in no time.

You can set up this monitor in no time with no assembly required – just take the monitor and the handy remote control out of the box, and get it all plugged into your home’s electricity. The monitor comes with an IEC power cord, and additional cables for USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort. You can also tilt the screen, though this is the only real ergonomic adjustment you can make.

The speakers are pretty decent, considerably better than the vast majority of monitors. The color accuracy is spot-on, and it has a bright backlight. The monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time. It’s certainly not the most affordable option out there, however.

4
PROS
  • Great color quality
  • Number of adjustability options
  • Good brightness
CONS
  • Not the best performance in dark areas

Acer Predator is already a series of gaming equipment you may be familiar with – the laptops are some of the best in the business when it comes to performance. Sure, these monitors may not be the best in terms of price, but the extra expense is certainly worth the investment.

The monitor features an attractive design. It’s not quite as colorful, nor does it stand out as much as many of Acer’s other Predator designs, but it will still look perfect in any gaming room. It can be altered to seven different colors in total, and it features a range of different modes.

In addition to this, you can also completely adjust the stand – you can change the angle, tilt and the height. You can mount it if you wish to. The monitor comes with four USB 3.0 ports in addition to an HDMI 2.0 port, Display Port 1.4, and audio connection.

The monitor works very well if you put it into a bright room, though its performance certainly isn’t the best if you put it in a dark room. This may not be the best for you night time gamers out there that like to keep the lights out for extra immersion. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic option that we highly recommend investing in.

5
PROS
  • Very good response time
  • Accurate image when the monitor is tilted
  • Lots of adjustment options
CONS
  • The contrast is pretty low
  • Input lag is rather high at 60Hz

There’s a lot to love about the ASUS VG279QM gaming monitor. This monitor features incredible motion handling, and there’s very little blur to be seen when you’re gaming. Of course, that’s not all.

The monitor is 27 inches, though there is also a 24.5-inch version if you would prefer something smaller. It’s got a fairly simple design but it’s still pretty fitting for a gamer. You can adjust the stand fairly easily, and it can be moved to different heights, tilts, pivots and swivel. It’s pretty durable too.

The input lag is thankfully pretty low if you are gaming at around 280Hz. It only has around 2ms of delay, which is more than suitable for a gamer looking for high performance. It has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080.

The monitor also comes with some additional features. These include GamePlus utilities that you would find in pretty much any ASUS models. It also has an overclocking option, Shadow Boost for darker games, low blue light filter, in addition to other adjustments that you would expect from a monitor.  It has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports and 1 DisplayPort 1.2 input, a jack for your headphones, in addition to 2 2W integrated speakers.

Things to consider

Resolution

Gaming is an art. You don’t want to look at art on a medium that distorts it, do you? We’re in 2020 – why should you settle for less than the best? The newest, shiniest models will give you all of the latest features. All-inclusive 4K content support? Check! This is something that’s a must-have for the best gaming experience.

With that being said, there’s a big downside to 4K screens: they aren’t the best in terms of response time and refresh rates for certain kinds of gaming. This is part of the reason why 1080p monitors are still pretty common.

If you’re going to be playing a game that’s competitive like a shooter, or eSports, then you should try to get a monitor that has more than a 60Hz refresh rate. It should also have 1ms or lower response time.

If you aren’t willing to downgrade on the graphics, then it may be worth investing in a 1440p monitor which is both fast and has decent graphics.

Screen Size

Your screen’s resolution and speed can be, in part, affected by the shape and size of your monitor screen. Most gamers, ourselves included, like to go for 25 or 27-inch screens.

You may be more inclined to go for a larger screen so you can see more at one time, but this isn’t necessarily better. The response time is likely to be longer if you have a larger screen, and the recovery rate might decline. You need to think about both the size and the performance combined.

Panel

When you’re on the hunt for the best monitor for PS5, you should really think about getting an option with an IPS panel. This is essentially going to allow you to see all of the colors from your game in vivid quality colors, with brightness levels that properly complement the game. This really does wonders for your gaming experience!

The alternative option is a TN Panel. These offer exceptional performance, and you can see every movement with ease. The colors aren’t quite as accurate as an IPS panel is, but they’re certainly not bad at all.

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)

The newest PlayStation model incorporates VRR technology, also known as Variable Refresh Rate which reduces tearing and stuttering. In short, VRR allows your display to adjust its refresh rate in real-time, based on the speed at which your PS5 will feed the display data.

What does this mean when it comes to buying a new monitor? In short, your display and your PS5 will both need HDMI 2.1 for you to use the VRR. Strongly consider a monitor with VRR if you play fast-paced FPS, or frequently encounter tearing during gameplay.

Our Verdict

Choosing the best possible monitor for PS5 doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, we hope the above list has helped you to find the monitor of your dreams so you can shoot zombies to your heart’s content. These are just a few of the best monitors out there to give you a truly immaculate gaming experience, but this is by no means exhaustive.

It’s important to remember the key specs you need. You’ll need at least 60hz, but 120hz will give you an even better experience.

Regardless of your budget, there are plenty of options on the market to quench your thirst for a new monitor for that immersive gameplay you’re looking for. It’s just important to make sure that the gaming monitor you buy will fit your exact needs. While you could have a great time playing your PS5 on the monitor you used for your PS4, we highly recommend investing in one of these new, more advanced monitors.
